Scholarship
Every spring the Floyd County Historical Society offers a $500 scholarship to an area senior. Preference is given to a student who has been active in the Museum and/or who intends to go into a history or related field.

Internships
The Floyd County Museum will hire another intern for summer 2024. Preference will be given to current college students or recent highschool graduates with an interest in history, museum studies, or social studies. Employment Opportunities
The museum is hiring for a summer internship position! Do you have experience in video editing? Are you studin digital media in school and want to hone your skills? Our summer internship would be the perfect fit for you. Our museum in Charles City, Iowa is seeking a student to help us edit and create video content to be used in museum displays. The majority of the work will focus on the history of the Oliver Corporation (who manufactured tractors right here in Charles City) and their marketing strategy to farmers and dealers. The museum has a collection of 16mm film from the tractor company that will be edited together to create totally new video content that will utilize scans of sales literature, pictures, oral history interviews, and narrations. We need an intern to help put these videos together. Eventually they will be on display in the museum tractor wing on a new video display wall. The intern will also be asked to help create videos for other areas of the museum and to use for advertising.

Intern will work 30 hours a week for $11 an hour for 12 weeks. This internship is only available for current, incoming, or recently graduated college students.
